Watching my little brother get married was surreal. He is the youngest of the four siblings, and now all of us are married. It's amazing to see how much our family has grown over the past 8 years. Time moves so fast.
Necole and I visited our grandparents while we were home. We took Emmanuel and my nephew John with us so they could ooh and ahh over them. It wasn't a long visit, but it was so nice. They are getting older, so my parents are going to be moving in with them soon to help them out and take care of them. They commented on how fast time goes... They remaniced about when the twins were born and their next son after them... 3 babies in diapers at once. They told us that they used to sit with a pile of freshly-laundered diapers and fold them together. So much time has passed by, but it just went so fast.
Today Mitch's grandfather stopped by for a visit. He was traveling near by and went out of his way a total of 6 hours to meet his great-grandson. It was such a nice visit. He was saying how fast time goes and how it feels like not too long ago when Mitchell was this little. He said, "before you know it, he'll be graduating high school." I looked at my little boy crawling on the floor and felt a bit sad that he won't be so little for long. He said, "If you pull a tape measure out, and look at 73... There's not much til 83... But a lot before it... Time goes so fast... Every day is a blessing."
I'm only in the beginning stages of the wheels of time turning faster and faster, but I am feeling its effects already. I want to cherish every moment, and not take for granted what the Lord has gifted me.
